PEPPA® dolls are made totally of natural fibres: the bodies and dresses are made of cotton towelling or brushed cotton and some have silk as the lining or clothes. The doll's head is stuffed with sheeps’ wool, which absorbs scents quickly. If a mother holds the doll for a night and then passes it to the newborn, the baby will be able to quickly associate it with the comfort and nearness of its mother. As a result, a PEPPA® rag doll quickly becomes an indispensable and inseparable favourite!

Please note that this type of doll has been copied many times over. Be aware that the cheaper "copy cats" are stuffed with polyester fiber fill instead of pure sheep's wool. Polyester does not transfer scents, therefore the doll cannot be considered a natural "bonding" doll!

A feature of PEPPA® dolls is their simplicity. You will notice that many models, although they have human form, do not have facial expressions marked. Young babies experience the world more through touch and smell than sight so the PEPPA® is designed to be tactile and representative of familiar, comforting scents and associations, and not of a stereotypical ideal form of human. You might notice that most dolls you buy these days have a “happy”, painted-on smile.

PEPPA® dolls are manufactured in Fair Trade cooperatives in India and Bangladesh. That is why a PEPPA® doll looks the honest piece of handcrafted work that it is. All Peppas carry the CE safety standard mark.
